Your Green Grocer

We’re proud to share some of the sustainability initiatives we’ve implemented at our grocery store. We’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint and supporting our community.

Firstly, we’ve invested in energy-efficient appliances throughout the store to minimize our energy consumption. Additionally, we’ve installed hot water on demand systems. Our HVAC system reclaims heat from the refrigeration compressors to help heat the store. All lighting and appliances are on energy savings timers. We do monthly maintenance on all of our equipment to ensure it is performing at its full capacity.

We also strongly believe in supporting local vendors, which not only reduces transportation emissions, but also boosts our local economy. We prioritize sourcing products from nearby farms and businesses whenever possible. We utilize local vendors for inventory, supplies and as contractors. Something as simple as using local contractors means less travel to the stores to perform work.

Furthermore, we’re actively working towards zero-waste initiatives. We encourage customers to bring their own reusable bags and containers, and we’re exploring composting and recycling programs to minimize our waste output. We work with a local recycler to redirect all items from landfills. We work with a local organics waste company to divert all organics from landfills. They use this organic waste in a variety of ways, including making fertilizer and animal feed. We utilize all items in our kitchen to make prepared foods before items expire. Items we prepare include broth, soup sauces, preserves and home meal replacements.
